As a black guy i think that hip hop is pure evil and should be banned. Hip hop is Black nationalism. If blacks hate white natonalism then maybe they should stop making this crap called hip hop. I mean even the clothes of hiphop is awful its like what homless people would wear. We should dress normally

As a black woman, I feel that SOME hip hop music is degrading, disrespectful, and demoralizing to the Black Race. However, I do not think it is evil, nor should it be banned. Music is a form of self expression and let’s not forget the right to free speech. If this is how our young African Americans choose to express themselves, then so be it. It’s a way for many of them to get out of the ghetto and support their families. Hip Hop music has changed the lives of many people and provides jobs for a lot of people who may not have such an opportunity had it not been for Hip Hop music. I feel that there needs to be a wake up call, and Hip Hop music should be more about uplifting our people and doing positive things rather than glorifying sex, money, and drugs. There are very positive artists out there such as Common, The Roots, Nas, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli. Not every hip hop artist is like 50 Cent, Akon, or Ludacris. There are some out there who actually have something positive to say without desrespecting women. You have a choice not to listen to Hip Hop music, and that’s what you should do.
